Do I have to be Catholic to do this pilgrimage?+
Not at all. All five sites welcome visitors of any faith or no faith. Some are active churches, some are museums — all are open to respectful visitors.
How long does the full pilgrimage take?+
Plan on a full day if walking — roughly 4–6 hours including time inside each site. Driving visitors can complete it in 3–4 hours. You can also visit individual sites on separate days.
Is there an admission fee?+
The shrines and cathedral are free to visit. The Old Ursuline Convent Museum charges a modest admission fee — check their website for current pricing before your visit.
What should I wear?+
Modest dress is appreciated at all sites — shoulders and knees covered. This is especially important at active churches and the cathedral. Comfortable walking shoes are essential if you're walking the route.
Can I attend Mass at any of these sites?+
Yes — both shrines, the Basilica, and St. Louis Cathedral all celebrate Mass. See individual site pages for current schedules.
Is photography allowed?+
Generally yes, but please be discreet — no flash during Mass or prayer, and follow any posted notices. Museums may have their own policies.
What should I bring?+

Is the route accessible?+
The walking route follows public sidewalks, which vary in condition — the French Quarter in particular has uneven brick and stone. Several sites have step-free entries; please contact individual sites for specifics if mobility access is a concern.
